The Old Farmer's Almanac thinks it knows the exact day when many cities in Missouri will have the first frost of Fall and it's not that far away.

If the GFS model is correct, freezing temperatures in Missouri could arrive before the middle of October.

It's hard to imagine as the heat of summer hasn't fully receded that Wisconsin could see its first frost of the season in only a handful of weeks. Data shows on average that is very much a possibility.

Considering how warm it's been for the past few weeks, it's hard to believe that some places in Wisconsin are only a month or two away from frosty weather, but that's true. Farmer's Almanac thinks it knows what day that will be for 19 Wisconsin places.

Having grown up in a Missouri family that farms, I can tell you that farmers know things that others don't and that's especially true about the weather. They have almost a sixth sense to understand seasons. That's why I took notice when Farmer's Almanac says it knows what day will be the first Fall frost in Missouri.

I will admit this is a very odd topic to bring up right after a massive heat wave, but it's not my fault. Blame Farmer's Almanac who claims they can predict the first Fall frost for every place in Illinois. I'm limiting them to just 20 major places.

You can already feel a slight chill in the air. When will that little bit of coldness become actual freezing temperatures in Missouri? Based on recent history, sooner than you think.
