The members of Sugarland got the chance to make a young girl’s life brighter at a recent tour stop in Minnesota. Singer Jennifer Nettles and singer-songwriter Kristian Bush were performing at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel on Aug. 8 when they were joined onstage by a very special guest — a 4-year-old cancer patient named Avery.

Dressed in tiny pink cowboy boots and a flower-print dress, Avery danced adorably onstage while her mom and the duo sang a chorus of their career-launching hit ‘Baby Girl,’ which was caught on tape and posted to YouTube for everyone’s enjoyment.

Avery is a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which specializes in treating children. Her mother, Jennifer, told Nettles that Avery was diagnosed with cancer at 22 months and given a grim prognosis. Doctors said she had just 3-6 months to live, even with treatment. Avery is now 4 years old, and after treatment at St. Jude, she is 85 % cancer free.
