Committees began meeting in 2004, with the final result being a $32-million dollar facility, housing the jail, along with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Quincy Police Department.

The sheriff’s office has been in the new facility since May, jail inmates were moved over in June and QPD took up residence in the new building in July.
