One of America’s Best Nature Parks is Hidden Deep in Missouri
It's wildly underrated, but that might not be the case for much longer. I believe I can prove with science that one of America's best nature parks is hidden deep in Missouri.
The nature park I'm referring to is Dogwood Canyon in Lampe, Missouri. The reason it may not be much of a local secret anymore is it just got national attention from Southern Living for its prime eagle watching opportunities. The winter migration is at its zenith in January which is why you're seeing this now.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for what Dogwood Canyon has to offer. The area offers hiking, biking, wildlife tours, horseback riding and trout fishing just to name a few.
Not to sound like a cheerleader, but it really is 10,000 acres of awesomeness. If you love waterfalls like my family does, you need to road trip to Dogwood Canyon at some point in the next year.
The tram tours are sweet if you have a family that isn't real excited about a lot of walking.
It's worth mentioning that it's not a short drive to get there. It's south of even Branson and is best experienced when you have something else planned in either Springfield or Branson.
Ticket prices vary, but generally are around $14 for adults for a day pass. Make sure to check out the official Dogwood Canyon website if this destination interests you and yours.
