Missouri Lights up Lanterns and Legends for October Weekends
For the tenth year on the riverfront in historic downtown St. Charles, Legends and Lanterns provides immersive historical Halloween fun for everyone Fridays and Saturdays (and a final Sunday) Oct 11-12, 18-19, and 24-26.
Historic Main Street - St. Charles, MO.
This year Legends and Lanterns turns to the fabled villains of the past, whether from real history or literature. You can encounter and interact with Lizzie Borden and her axe. The Big Bad Wolf of nursery rhyme fame. The Queen of Hearts from “Alice in Wonderland”, and Medusa from Greek mythology.
Historic downtown St. Charles is full of charm and fascination with several paranormal hot spots to find. Do you dare engage with the spirit world directly? Be aware, sometimes encounters can happen mundanely, and you won’t realize it until after the fact.

In addition to the entrancing surroundings, your enveloping adventure should also include a visit to the Victorian Mourning Museum and the Plaza del Dia de los Muertos. You can also let the moment move you to put pen to paper and create your own chilling tale with the master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe. Dirges via the Plague Doctor will keep you in the right frame of mind, with many opportunities to make memories and have the ghosts of historic Main Street St. Charles imprint onto you, and vice versa.
