With the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano/Cortina getting underway next week, it’s a good time to find out who will be wearing the red, white and blue from Missouri and aiming for gold. There are four Missouri athletes that will be aiming for the medal platform this year.

Brady and Matthew Tkachuk – Men’s Ice Hockey

Matthew and Brady are sons of former St. Louis Blues hockey player Keith Tkachuk. Both were raised in Creve Coeur, MO., both went to Chaminade College Prep, and both were part of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. Matthew plays professionally with the Florida Panthers, while Brady skates with the Ottawa Senators.

Joy Dunne – Women’s Ice Hockey

The baby of the Dunne Hockey family from O’Fallon, MO. Joy’s older sister Jincy plays pro women’s hockey for the New York Sirens and was a member of Team USA women’s hockey in 2022. Her brother Josh is an NHL pro with the Buffalo Sabres. She went to Fort Zumwalt South High School, and is currently on the women’s varsity at Ohio State, scoring the national championship winning goal as a freshman.

Caleb Furnell – Men’s Bobsled

The Lee’s Summit West grad competed in soccer and track, and still holds the Missouri high school record for the high jump. Caleb attended Utah Valley University and was on the track team. He began his bobsled odyssey just a couple years ago.

The five ring winter circus runs from Friday February 6th thru Monday February 22nd in Milano/Cortina Italy.
