Country artists are regulars on the state fair circuit. Although, in recent years rock and pop artists have also been popping up for the annual extravaganza at state fairgrounds across the country.

Megan Moroney just set a new mark for attendance at the Illinois State Fair grandstand with 15,532. This new mark bests the previous mark set last year by Li’l Wayne. In years past, artists like Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Reba McEntire and Hootie and the Blowfish held the Illinois State Fair mark since 1995.

Now the question is: “Can she hang onto that mark for the rest of this year’s fair? This week Sheryl Crow, Snoop Dogg, Brad Paisley and the Chainsmokers perform before this weekend. On Saturday Def Leppard take a crack at topping Moroney’s record and then Sunday to close out the 2025 Illinois State Fair Turnpike Troubadours take the stage.

Moroney is still on the rise in the world of country music. Already established in Nashville, and on country radio across the country, she can still achieve greater heights with a couple more albums plump with sing along hits like she’s already delivered. The fans are here for it in Illinois.
