M.L.B. Network to Broadcast a Jack Buck Marathon Today
I knew if you are a baseball fan, especially a Cardinal Baseball fan, you will love hearing this news. The Major League Baseball (MLB) Network is featuring legendary Hall of Fame broadcaster Jack Buck in an all-day long marathon today (Monday, June 22).
The broadcast day will feature classic games that Jack Buck called during his career starting at 5:30 am this Monday morning. The classic “Go Crazy Folks, Go Crazy” broadcast will be featured at 2 p.m.
These game broadcasts by Jack Buck, a Ford C. Frick Award winner, will lead into MLB Network’s “The Sounds of The Game” series at 6 p.m. Central time with a rebroadcast of the special hour scheduled for 10:30 p.m. Central time Monday night.
“The Sounds of Baseball” is co-hosted by MLB Network’s Bob Costas and Tom Verducci. Tonight’s episode of “The Sounds of The Game” will include famous Buck calls, like Ozzie Smith’s walk-off home-run in the NLCS, Bob Gibson’s no-hitter against the Pirates, Lou Brock’s historic steal and 3,000th hit and others.
Each episode focuses on one baseball broadcaster. The first episode of this series aired earlier this month and featured Vin Scully. Harry Caray, Bob Uecker and others will be featured in the weeks ahead.
Multiple generations of baseball fans grew up listening to Jack Buck and those fans can relive some of those calls in an all-day Jack Buck marathon on MLB Network today. If you love baseball, this is one you won’t want to miss.
