Luke Combs' recent promise to share unreleased material via Twitter continued on Thursday (July 11) with an acoustic questioning of the norm, titled "Reasons." Readers can press play above to hear the new track.

"Reasons" starts out innocently enough, with Combs pondering restrictions on one of his favorite song topics: alcohol. “Don’t know why you can’t buy wine ‘round here on Sunday, or an ice-cold beer at a college football game” begins the potential barroom sing-a-long. The "Beer Never Broke My Heart" singer quickly pivots, however, to a couple of more serious and equally well-worn country tropes: spiritual matters and heartbreak.

Basically, Combs built a song around the idea that if he can't explain everything taught in Sunday school or justify why he cannot buy a six-pack on the way home from church, then he'll never make sense of a former flame's life decisions. It's a relatable, no-nonsense song, sure to connect with a sizable chunk of the rising superstar's growing audience.

In an earlier tweet, Combs teased the release of a series of new songs, presumably as live video captured by his crew or fans: “Possible a few of y'all will have already heard some of the songs," he said, "but added a few more people to this crazy ride we're on recently so I want to share with everyone!”

Prior song teasers include the '90s country throwback "1, 2 Many" and the tender "Better Together." A fourth song next Thursday (July 18) would cap off a huge week for Combs: On Tuesday (July 16), he officially joins the Grand Ole Opry cast.
