KICK-FM Just Got Struck By Lightning! [PHOTO]

Our chief engineer, Gary, just sent this photo my way. That piece of equipment, which is located on power pole at the KICK transmitter site, is called a “cut-out” and it is designed to hold a fuse between the station’s incoming power line and our transformer. And as Gary so eloquently puts it, “Apparently Mr. Lightning kicked its butt!”

Thanks to Gary and the team for identifying the problem, installing a new cut-out, and getting us back on the air in a timely fashion.
