I always say teachers are the hardest working people on the planet, and now Missouri wants more qualified new teachers to come and work in the Show-Me State with two new laws.

A new law signed by Governor Parsons will give Missouri teachers a high baseline salary in hopes that more teachers come to the Show-Me State. Senate Bill 727 and House Bill 2287 were signed into law this week making Missouri a desirable place for new teachers looking for their first tracking job.

In the new combined laws, Missouri teachers' starting baseline salary has increased to $40,000 per year, based on a 5-day school week. The two new laws also will increase support for early education programs, and more funding for smaller schools among many more provisions.

This is a big win for Missouri which recently received a bad ranking for teaching in the state.

Hopefully, with this new law in effect, there will be an increase in teachers for the Show-Me State especially with the end of the school year approaching and new teachers getting ready to graduate. This could be a huge turning point for Missouri becoming one of the worst states to teach into one of the best.
