I love my home state of Missouri, but I will admit that we can be a curious people all the time sometimes. If you'd like to see more evidence of that, look at what many agree is the dumbest actual law in Missouri. It involves cars and Tarzan and I'm not making any of that up.

I saw this shared by Reader's Digest regarding the dumbest laws in each state and the one for Missouri is a real doozie. You'll find it in University City, Missouri and I can even give you the exact statute so you can look it up. As Stupid Laws documents, it's 10.32.100 and it warns you to not...

"swing upon any motor vehicle or trailer, whether the same is in motion or at rest, or sound the horn or other sound-producing device thereon"

Sorry, Tarzan, but you may not swing upon my car in University City, Missouri and honk my horn...or else.

I'm not sure I agree that this is Missouri's dumbest law though. There is a real competition for this honor. Consider this one. It's really illegal in Missouri to drive around with an uncaged bear which means that someone in Missouri has done this before.

I'm probably one of the few Missourians who's actually proud that our state has so many dumb laws. In my opinion, it's these kind of statutes and rules that adds character to a place and Missouri sure does have character (and characters).
