Missouri Fugitive on Run 10 Years Caught by US Marshals in Texas

United States Marshals have captured a Missouri fugitive wanted for a homicide in St. Louis who has been on the run for more than a decade. The suspect was found in Dallas at a homeless shelter.

The US Marshals announced this capture in a press release that detailed how they finally tracked the fugitive down.  They said they apprehended Jonathan Harris, 58, wanted for the murder of Jose Orona in April of 2016 in St. Louis. The USMS Eastern Missouri Fugitive Task force took over this case in October of that same year when they believed Harris had fled the St. Louis area.

Their investigation led them to believe that Harris had changed his name and was hiding in the area of Dallas where a homeless shelter was so they connected with the USMS North Star Fugitive Task Force. They found Harris at the homeless shelter located at 1800 block of Corsicana Street in Dallas.

I applaud these deputies for their dedication to duty and commitment to our community”. said Steven Lewis, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Missouri. “I commend the diligence and tenacity of the men and women who worked this investigation. The message that we wish to convey to fugitives and their associates is that we are coming for you!”

The US Marshals say that Harris is now in the process of being extradited back to St. Louis to face justice.
