Shh. Be very very quiet. It's the town that's been declared the quietest place in Missouri and you wouldn't want to disturb anyone. However, it is more than OK to admire the windmill they have in the middle of the street as they're quite proud of it.

World Atlas just declared Blackwater, Missouri the quietest town in the state which is fair considering they don't have much to make noise there. No gas stations or traffic lights, but also no big time hassle like traffic or annoying machinery (unless you include the occasional tractor). Blackwater is about 40 miles as the crow flies to the northwest of Columbia, Missouri which means the residents there have big city options if they don't mind putting up with Kansas City or Columbia people.

There's more to Blackwater, Missouri than just the lack of noise. According to Wikipedia, it was born as a railroad town in 1887. The latest census says that only 187 quiet souls still call it home, but that's the way they like it in Blackwater. Off the beaten path and it intends to stay that way. Just don't honk your horn or drive through if you have a loud muffler. That would be frowned upon in Blackwater, Missouri.
