
Panera Shuts St. Louis, Missouri Dough Site—72 Jobs Gone
Panera Bread has announced a big change for their St. Louis, Missouri facility that will result in 72 workers being jobless soon.
This new WARN notice just posted to the Missouri Jobs site reveals a facility closing in the St. Louis area soon that will impact 72 employees. A letter shared by the state says that this Fresh Dough Facility located at 2511 S. Hanley Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri will be closing in September.
Here are the exact words from the Panera representative in the letter submitted to the state of Missouri:
"We are writing to inform you that the Panera, LLC (“Panera”) Fresh Dough Facility located at 2511 S. Hanley Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63144 will cease operations and close on September 12, 2025. All seventy-two (72) employees of the facility will be impacted with the loss of their employment."
Why is Panera closing this fresh dough facility in St. Louis?
The reason is unclear, but the letter submitted to the state of Missouri is that all employees have been informed of this decision and they will be laid off between September 10, 2025 and September 12, 2025. Their letter also says "Panera is offering all affected employees a severance package as well as outplacement services." Let's hope all of these affected workers land on their feet in better situations.
