
4 Deaths Linked to Missouri Ready-to-Eat Meals
There's a new alert from the USDA that escalates a recall on ready-to-eat meals that were widely available in Missouri as they are now believed to be connected to at least 4 deaths.
The USDA has just issued an updated alert about ready-to-eat meals that were available in Missouri Walmart and Kroger grocery stores. The manufacturer is FreshRealm for these affected products that are believed to be connected to a Listeria outbreak:
- 32.8-oz. tray packages containing “MARKETSIDE GRILLED CHICKEN ALFREDO WITH FETTUCCINE Tender Pasta with Creamy Alfredo Sauce, White Meat Chicken and Shaved Parmesan Cheese” with best-by date 06/27/25 or prior.
- 12.3 oz. tray packages containing “MARKETSIDE GRILLED CHICKEN ALFREDO WITH FETTUCCINE Tender Pasta with Creamy Alfredo Sauce, White Meat Chicken, Broccoli and Shaved Parmesan Cheese” with best-by date 06/26/25 or prior.
- 12.5 oz. tray packages containing “HOME CHEF Heat & Eat Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with pasta, grilled white meat chicken, and Parmesan cheese” with best-by date 06/19/25 or prior.

This recall of ready-to-eat meals in Missouri has been escalated as the feds say "three reported deaths and one fetal loss associated with this outbreak". In total, there are 17 sicknesses in 13 different states as a result of the Listeria outbreak. According to the CDC, Missouri is one of those affected states.
