Missouri Named One of the Top Dad Bod States in America

Not everyone can be beautiful or handsome. That's what I tell myself as I look in the mirror these days. However, I can prove with science that my home state is a champion for a certain body type. That's right. No state does dad bods quite like Missouri does.

Thanks to the dudes at Solitaired for reaching out and alerting me about Missouri's excellence in the world of dad bods. They say "rather than striving for six-packs, men started to focus on balance, comfort, and confidence in a body that doesn’t need to be optimized at all times". Amen, brother. Preach it.

How did they decide which states embrace the dad bod the most?

They ask many men and women in each state what type of physique they have and how they believe it is perceived by others. They calculated a score based on those answers and boy oh boy Missouri shined like a bright star in the dad bod world.

Where does Missouri rank when it comes to dad bods?

Missouri ranks #5 in America, thank you very much only trailing the slobs dad bods in Alabama, North Carolina, Oregon and Indiana. Does it make me a bad person to wish that Missouri was #1? The truth hurts.

In my younger years, I worked out constantly including running, lifting weights and playing tennis. That kept me in shape most of the time, but my family DNA eventually caught up with me. My dad and his brothers all had what the world would refer to as dad bods and I have followed suit in recent years. I blame my DNA because Harvard Health backs me up and says 40 to 80% of your family history can contribute to your predisposition for being overweight.

I have also lost tons of weight in recent years doing the low-carb routine, but now I don't worry about it as much. Those that don't like me because I'm overweight aren't the kind of people I want to please anyway. I am who I am and it seems a majority of men and women who live in Missouri feel the same way. Dad bods for the win!
