There's more than a bit of irony in this. There are 3 Missouri communities that were just chosen among the top 40 places to live in America for this year and the next. All three are not far from each other in the St. Louis area.

US News and World Report just released their best places to live in America list for 2025 and 2026. I guess they really can see into the future. Unlike many internet lists that are nothing more than the opinion of one writer, theirs is based on a lot of data and incorporates a number of factors into what makes a community a great place to live. According to their stated methodology, they use "private and government sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau, Department of Commerce, the Federal Reserve and the Bureau for Economic Analysis, as well as state and local sources".

All of these communities are practically next to each other in a line that crosses through the St. Louis area. The irony is that national sites almost always run with the narrative that the St. Louis area is a danger zone of murder when all of us that actually live in Missouri know it's only pockets of trouble and the St. Louis area in general is a great place to live. This new ranking proves that point true again.
