If you learned that your bank was about to be closed, you would hope that your personal information would be removed and/or safeguarded, right? Explorers just found an abandoned bank in Illinois that had a disturbing amount of checks still littering the floors with account numbers present.

ObsoleteVoids on YouTube just shared their investigation of an abandoned Illinois bank. They did not give the exact bank or location, but I know for a fact this is the now-abandoned Fifth Third Bank in Chicago, Illinois. You can see the state of Illinois represented on the walls and there are checks found on the floor with their name, too.

I don't know who was responsible for cleaning up this bank after it was vacated, but whoever it was did an awful job. Leaving customer checks and deposit slips laying on the floor is inexcusable. I don't even want to think of what kind of personal information remains in those file cabinets. While they were found locked, it would not take a sophisticated thief to figure out how to saw those things open and possibly compromise the privacy of anyone who's information remains inside. Again, I don't know whose fault it is, but someone should have to answer for what this bank left behind. The customers deserve better.
