Is the Claim of $19 Super-Cheap Flights from Missouri Real?
I will admit this is something unusual for me to share considering how much I do not enjoy flying, but I did a double-take when I saw a friend share information about super-cheap $19 flights out of St. Louis. I have confirmed it's a real thing, but there is a catch and it's only partially true.
If you've seen friends share details of an airline offering $19 flights, I can confirm it's true. Frontier Airlines does indeed have special $19 flights, but there are many things you need to know.
First, let's start with the graphic from their official website proving it's true.
As the fine print points out, you have to grab tickets by September 2 for fly dates between October 11, 2024 and February 28, 2025. Note that these are one-way tickets and NOT round trip.
Here's the part I've found to not be accurate. While Frontier has added 11 new routes, they are for specific origin airports going to specific destinations and as of the date of this writing, no $19 flights either originate or land in Missouri in either St. Louis or Kansas City. That does not mean that what one of your friends may have shared isn't true. It appears that these special $19 flights change all the time. It's very possible that one of the Missouri airports was a $19 origin or destination, but they aren't as of now.
If it makes you feel better, I did find one-way flights from St. Louis to Las Vegas for as low as $39 or $78 round-trip on Expedia.
It might be a good idea to check their website to see when/if Frontier adds Missouri as a fly-out option. Could be that you could score a real bargain deal on a vacation destination without costing a fortune.
