We're now close enough to the incoming storm system that forecasters at the National Weather Service in St. Louis now think they have a good idea which areas will be impacted by snow and they're now warning about interstate travel on Saturday.

If you somehow weren't aware, snow will be impacting most of Missouri beginning early Saturday morning. While there is still uncertainty about exact locations and amounts, this is what the National Weather Service in St. Louis just shared about timing and location of the snow bands. Pay special attention to their note about Interstate 70 travel which is where they think the heaviest snow bands will be.

This will complicate travel for those planning to attend the Mizzou football game against Arkansas which is scheduled to start around 2:30pm. The I-70 corridor is right now in the area where the more intense snow is expected to fall.

But, there's good news (maybe) about snow Saturday in Missouri

If the snow in mid-Missouri begins around 4am as the National Weather Service expects right now, that could mean that the worst of the snow and limited visibility will be over before noon. That could (key word) mean that whatever snow is coming will be on the ground and plowed before the biggest crowds head toward Columbia.

Still, it's a good idea right now to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. If you must travel through the middle part of Missouri Saturday, expect snow to slow your pace. If it doesn't end up being a problem, you still win.
