There's never a good reason to sell drugs in Missouri, but a new case involves an alleged unusual motivation. A recently arrested suspect who is accused of selling methamphetamine in Missouri reportedly wanted the proceeds so he could return to California.

This wild status update by the Camden County, Missouri Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page tells the story of a man from California who allegedly was caught receiving meth in the mail with plans to sell the drugs so he could return to California. It began when a Missouri post office alerted authorities of a package that contained meth which was revealed during processing.

Here's the statement from Camden County, Missouri Sheriff Chris Edgar:

“This case is a clear example of how critical cooperation between law enforcement agencies and support from the community is in combating the flow of illegal drugs into Camden County. I want to thank the alert USPS personnel who reported the suspicious package and the diligent work of all the agencies involved. Let me be clear: if you’re bringing drugs into our communities, we will find you, and we will put you away. Our message to drug dealers is simple, you are not welcome here."

The sheriff went on to remind everyone that accusations are not proof of guilt until it's proven in a court of law.
