Missouri Truck Stop Named Among Best in US for Women

It's easy to take a good truck stop for granted, but that's especially true for female drivers. The great news is that one in Missouri was just named one of the top 3 in America for ladies behind the wheel.

This is the Garden Inn Truck Plaza located at 27478 Holt 223 in Mound City, Missouri

According to a story shared by Yahoo Finance, this Missouri truck stop was chosen by Women in Motion in the Trucker Path app as one of the top 3 stops in the United States. They said that truck stops around the country were rated by female truckers based on "lighted parking, lighted bathroom access, lighted lounge areas, lighted shower, lighted laundry facilities, 24/7 maintenance, and on-site security". The press release included a statement by the American Trucking Association's vice-president:

"Expanding the number of places where women drivers can safely stop and rest while on the road has been a key focus for WIM," said Nikki Thomas, American Trucking Associations vice president of industry affairs. "We congratulate the Top 3 highest rated Truck Stops that have focused on this important objective and thank Trucker Path for helping make the road safer for women drivers."

My career has taken me across the country which means a ton of travel, plus my family has had many over-the-road truck drivers. I can tell you that a reliable and safe truck stop is worth its weight in gold. The fact that this Mound City, Missouri location was picked among the top 3 in America is really a nice honor.
