As Season 1 of Dutton Ranch nears its end, Oreana will have a difficult choice to make between her father and her boyfriend. I'm not liking Carter's chances.

A 30-second trailer for Dutton Ranch Episode 7, "Den of Sin," finds her alongside Rob Will as he makes a return to the family. Her smile as he surprises Beulah (her grandmother) is almost evil.

  • Episode 7 of Dutton Ranch begins streaming on Paramount+ this Friday (June 19).
  • Last week's Episode 6 included another stunning death and an important conversation between Beth and Beulah Jackson.
  • Season 1 is nine episodes and on schedule to wrap on July 3.

Spoilers about Ep. 1-6 are coming.

The Dutton Rules podcast will break down last week's episode and explain why Carter is in far more trouble than he realizes during this week's live episode (2PM CT on June 16).

Dutton Ranch, Episode 7 Preview

The very beginning of the new trailer (see below) finds Rob Will announcing his presence, and the look of satisfaction on Oreana's face as her grandmother discovers Rob Will is back is what scares me.

That's her father, and she's all in on whatever he's planning. We know that plan includes massive artillery and promise to take back the ranch at all costs. She doesn't.

Or she does? Which is more terrifying?

At some point a second clash (After Ep. 1) between Rip Wheeler and Rob Will is coming and — if history predicts the future — it's likely to end with RW's body at the train station.

There's no way Carter and Oreana's relationship can survive this, and that puts Rip and Beth's adoptive son in the crosshairs by accident. Does she even care?

Last week, Carter told Oreana he loves her and she hardly reciprocated. All of her childhood trauma is manifesting in whatever comes next. She's very unpredictable.

Dutton Ranch Episode 7 Trailer

The focus of the trailer is the 10 Petal Ranch's 190th birthday and Beulah's decision to pass the torch, but there's one clip away from the party I can't stop thinking about. See if you can spot it.

At :21, someone shoots a gun at someone else. It appears to be a female form firing from behind tattered vinyl blinds. So, the setting is a more middle class household, or maybe some seedy business.

I can't help but wonder if Whitney, widow to murdered 10P foreman Wes, returns this episode and gets revenge. But, who would she be getting revenge on? Chet's dead. Rob Will and Joaquin are too important to this show to die so soon.

One thing is certain: all of the progress Rip made as foreman of the 10 Petal, and all the good will Beth built with Beulah will be clawed back as Rob Will takes arms.

Ep. 7 should set up a firefight during Ep. 8 and the finale, Ep. 9.
