I was reminded today that we'll have another historic moment in exactly 2 years. That's when a total solar eclipse will cross both Missouri and Illinois.

Thanks to Illinois Weather today who shared the reminder on their Facebook page of the path of this still future sky event when the rare total solar eclipse will be easily visible not far away from the tri-states.

As National Eclipse shows on their map, full totality will be visible in the area covering Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Marion, Illinois. In total, the eclipse will cross 13 states as that huge shadow makes its way across America.

Great American Eclipse notes that the 2024 eclipse will be visible for 4 minutes and 27 seconds beginning at approximately 12:41pm before reaching totality at 1:58pm on April 8, 2024. The eclipse event should be completely over by 3:17pm.

If you were fortunate enough to be in the path of the total solar eclipse of 2017, you know this is a rare event that you won't want to miss.
