It is now official – there will be no spring high school sports in Illinois or Missouri for 2020.

The Board of Directors of the Illinois High School Association announced after a meeting Tuesday that they would cancel all IHSA spring state tournaments.

The cancellation comes in conjunction with Governor J.B. Pritzker’s announcement last week that all public schools in the state would remain closed for the remainder of the school year.

The IHSA did leave the door open to some kind of spring athletic events taking place, depending on rulings by state government and medical advisors.

The Missouri State High School Activities cancelled The Show Me State’s remaining spring high school sports April 9th.
