Illinois City Art District Just Named One of the Best in U.S.A

We are pretty lucky here in Quincy and Hannibal to have some great art organizations that showcase local artists and artists from all over. USA Today just named an Illinois City as having one of the best art districts in the USA.

If you love all things art then USA Today says the Wabash Arts Corridor in Chicago is one of the best to visit in the USA.

This arts district in the heart of Chicago’s South Loop features one of the nation’s largest public arts programs. This “living urban canvas” features abundant street art, as well as performance spaces, public art installations, galleries and other cultural institutions.

The Wabash Arts Corridor has only been around for 10 years but has made a big impact in Illinois. People from all over come to enjoy the art from local artists and public art programs that the organization provides.

In just a few years, WAC has connected students, artists, curators, academic institutions, cultural organizations and local businesses with educational and cultural programming for the visual, performing and media arts.

I was not aware of this particular part of Chicago, but I love to see what local artists do in their community. I will defiantly have to put this on my stop list the next time I am in Chicago for a visit.
