One of Illinois’ Most Beautiful Spring Sights Is Blooming Soon
This time of year, you can start to see dogwood trees blooming and lining the streets of Quincy, creating some truly beautiful scenery. Even though it only lasts a short time, it’s a chance to take in all their natural beauty.
Where to See Cherry Blossoms in Chicago
You can also catch cherry blossoms in bloom at one stunning spot in Illinois—and they should be appearing soon. Head to Jackson Park along Lake Michigan, where these majestic cherry blossom trees begin to bloom each spring in Chicago.
When Cherry Blossoms Typically Bloom
Depending on lake effects, they may already be starting to bloom, or it could take a few more weeks. But with spring break coming up, if you’re planning a trip to Chicago, it’s definitely worth adding Jackson Park to your list to see these beautiful trees in person. Usually, these trees bloom from mid-April to mid-May; they don't last long.
How to Find Jackson Park’s Cherry Blossoms
To make it easy to find, the park sits right near the entrance to the Field Museum. If you’re already visiting, take a short walk through the area where the trees are located; you’ll find plenty of great photo opportunities.

These trees can grow between 20 and 50 feet tall and are globally renowned symbols of renewal and beauty. Maybe that’s why they bloom in the spring, just as new life begins and the seasons start to change.
