My kids are gonna roll their eyes at me for saying this, but I miss pinball games.  Sure, I can play Diablo and Call of Duty with the best of them.  (Ask my oldest son what it's like to get lit up by a Predator missile in COD)

But, I digress. We are fortunate to have Aladdin's Castle in the Quincy Mall still around. I remember when there was a great arcade in Hannibal called Wizard World.  It was up in the little square where Radio Shack is at now.  Some of my favorite times in high school were at Wizard World (yes, I was/am a non-drinking dork).  Wizard World had all the classic arcade machines back in the day...Pacman, Asteroids, Berzerk and one of my personal favorites, Gorf.

I held the high score on Gorf for about 2 minutes and 45 seconds before the one person who was dorkier than me in high school learned of my score and threw a couple quarters in and beat me.

Aladdin's Castle had a great game in the late 80's called S.T.U.N. Runner.  At the time, this was considered "blindingly fast".

But, you haven't really lived until you've played a great pinball game.  Although frowned upon by the owner/operators, you could set your drink (non-alcoholic of course) on one corner of the machine while you played.  Wizard World had em in spades.  One of my favorites was Medieval Madness...

Cool thing about the retro gaming days is you can grab apps for your phone that do a great job of reliving those days.  Pinball Arcade is (IMHO) the absolute best.

Still, playing these games on your iPad or phone is no substitute for the old days of hanging out in Wizard World or Aladdin's Castle back when the classic games were around.

Do you have any old games that you remember fondly?  Post in the comments and let us reminisce with you!
