There will be a lot of talk in the coming weeks about New Year's resolutions, but do people actually sit down and make them anymore?

A 2012 study on New Year's resolutions by the University of Scranton found that about 45% of Americans usually make resolutions at the beginning of the year, but hardly any stick to them. A Forbes article published on New Year's Day 2013 claims that only 8% of people achieve New Year's resolutions. The New York Times says the chances of sticking with them at least until February aren't even all that great.

Losing weight, getting organized, and saving money are usually the top resolutions that Americans make, each year.
