In a press conference Monday, Hannibal Mayor James Hark stressed the importance of safety measures to stem the tide of rising coronavirus cases in Marion County.

With a positivity rate of 18.7 percent, Marion County has reached Category One, meaning that businesses are encouraged to limit occupancy based on social distancing guidelines, social group sizes of ten or less are encouraged with some exceptions and masks are strongly advised in offices and businesses where social distancing is not possible.

Hark encouraged Hannibal residents to follow the basic guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID – wear a mask in public, maintain social distance, wash your hands often and stay home if you’re sick or have symptoms.
