Hannibal Man Wins $100,000 in Scratcher’s Game
A Hannibal man’s love of crossword-themed lottery scratcher’s tickets paid off big last week.
In a press release from the Missouri Lottery, officials announce that 29 year old Louis Mickels of Hannibal purchased a “Daily Crossword” scratcher’s ticket at the Abel’s Quik Shop on Broadway on February 1st.
Mickels uncovered ten words on the tickets, earning the game’s top prize of $100,000.
Mickels and his wife plan to use the prize to pay off debt.
Lottery officials say this is the second time in less than a year that a big winner has purchased their ticket at the Broadway Abel’s. Last April, George Kells of Hannibal bought a Powerball ticket that wound up being worth $50,000.
