As the state of Illinois gets ready to advance to Phase for on June 26, Governor JB Pritzker announced the new guidelines for the phase and what to expect on Friday.

In a statement released on Monday, Governor Pritzker described what Phase Four will mean for restaurants, meeting, events, and fitness centers:

Phase 4 allows for the safe reopening or expansion of several key business segments - such as health and fitness, movies and theater, museums and zoos, as well as indoor dining at restaurants. Phase 4 also allows for expanded gathering sizes, increasing the limit from 10 in Phase 3, to 50 people or fewer. This expanded gathering limit extends to key activities like meetings, events, and funerals. For full guidance and other resources visit: Illinois.gov/businessguidelines.

Also set to reopen are indoor and outdoor recreation (bowling alleys, skating rinks), as well as clubhouses. Indoor recreation (fitness gyms and workout centers) can operate at 50% of facility capacity while practicing social distancing. Museums and zoos can reopen to 25% capacity, cinema and theatres can open to less the 50 guest or 50% of capacity.

According to the statement, with the move into Phase Four this will bring  400,000 additional Illinoisans back to the workplace across all industries. I know some of my very close friends will be glad to either get back to the office after working from home this long, or even get back to work in general.

I know we all worked very hard, together, to make this happen and all we can do know is keep it going to keep going forward. I am looking forward to eating inside a restaurant again.
