Brett Young and wife Taylor shared their California wedding with the public in November of 2018, but it turns out the couple was officially married three months earlier.

In a lengthy post on Instagram on Monday (Sept. 10), Taylor cites Aug. 10, 2018 as "one of the happiest and most special days of my life," as that's when she says and Brett became legally married. She explains how they ventured to Rhinestone Wedding Chapel on Music Row in Nashville when he was home for one day while in the middle of touring.

Serendipitously, she points out, the chapel happened to be across the street from a sign advertising Brett's No. 1 song, "Mercy." They didn't tell anyone about the big news except for Taylor's sister.

"8.10.18 was the day I legally married my soulmate. We decided not to tell anyone we were married before our wedding day [with the exception of my sister because she’s the best secret keeper.] We didn’t want to take away from our wedding ceremony in November," she writes in the caption alongside a gallery that shows the couple holding up the marriage certificate and posing inside the rustic style chapel.

She also shares two videos from after the ceremony, with each of them excitedly revealing to the camera they'd just gotten married.

"Happy 1 year [and 1 month] to my perfect person. I’m so thankful that you’ve trusted me with your heart. I’m thankful for this life that we get to spend together ... You’re my everything and my best friend and our journey has just begun. I love you and I’m SO blessed to be your wife," she concludes.

The couple had an official wedding ceremony at the Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Springs, Calif., on Nov. 3 and invited roughly 200 family and friends to celebrate. The country star's father served as the officiant. A year after saying "I do" officially, the Youngs are expecting their first child, a girl, in fall of 2019.
