We could all use some love and kindness right now. The Blue Devil Dare to Care Week is aimed to do just that. Announced on the Quincy Public School Facebook page, the week has been created to spread love and kindness to all Blue Devils. November 4th through the 6th students & the community are asked to do simple, but kind things for someone they know.

Superintendent Roy Webb posted,

Our country has been a bit divided, as has our community and the Blue Devil Family. Our Diversity and Inclusion Committee is sponsoring a week of caring and togetherness. Let's figure out how we can come together for something better than our own agendas. We are ALL Blue Devils. Our Explorers, Foxes, Redtails, Falcons, Eagles, Flyers, and Comets are all Blue Devils first.

November 4 is do an acts of kindness day. You are asked to write a letter to someone, send a thank you, or simply call someone you have not talk to for a while. Go to a neighbor’s house and check on them to see if the need anything. Simple things that may not seem big to you, but may mean a lot to someone who receives your act of kindness.

November 5 is project day. Donate food items to the local food drive, help someone clean their yard of leaves, or clean a classroom. Maybe you know of someone that needs something built, help them build it. Find a project that needs attention and do what you can to help.

On the last day of care week, November 6, it's Blue Devil Blue Day. Wear your blue with pride. Whether you’re an alumnus, a student, or like myself have children attending a QPS school, show off your pride. Let's show our Blue Devil pride on this day!  The Quincy Senior High School drumline will out and about playing for all the schools.

How great is this for the school district to put this together, to get everyone (even the community) on board to support the students, teachers, and each other during this crazy year we've had. I may not have graduated from QHS, but I will be wearing my blue on November 6, and spreading kindness in a time when kindness is needed now more than ever before.
