Blake Shelton Reveals Plans for New(ish) ‘Fully Loaded: God’s Country’ Album
Earlier in 2019, Blake Shelton said that making a new album wasn't at the top of his priority list, explaining that he was having more fun simply going song by song. Over the summer, he did indeed spend time releasing stand-alone singles -- such as "Dive Bar," a duet with Garth Brooks, and "Hell Right," with Trace Adkins -- but now the singer is returning to the album format.
On Monday (Sept. 30), Shelton officially announced his next full-length project, Fully Loaded: God's Country, which will come out on Dec. 13. Featuring a mix of fan-favorite music (including his recent No. 1 hit, the titular "God's Country") and as-yet-unshared new tunes, the project will consist of twelve tracks.
However, Shelton says in a press release that by the time the album drops, fans will already be familiar with most of the material. "With five new songs on this album, you've got 'God's Country,' 'Hell Right' and a few more that haven't come out yet -- maybe I wasn't supposed to say that," he shares in a press release. "But the fans will hear most of the music on Fully Loaded before it hits the streets in December."
The singer also acknowledged that he's enjoyed sharing songs with fans one at a time. "Well, I knew the label would come up with some plan to release an album," he says. "I've been vocal about how much I like this new way of releasing songs more frequently. It keeps me excited and gives me the opportunity to find the hot new song that I love and get it out to the fans quickly. I think they like it, too."
Fully Loaded: God's Country will be Shelton's first full-length body of work since his 2017 release, Texoma Shore. In the meantime, he's been keeping busy with his single releases, as well as his duties as a coach on The Voice.
