The Polar Express Train returns to St. Louis Union Station for the 2020 holiday season with some changes to allow for social distancing and safety. Characters and helpers will wear masks, and masks will be required for all guests over the age of 9 per St. Louis City Health Department guidelines.

The train will be decorated for the season and remain stationed under the shed for a walk-through experience. Guests will interact with the Polar Express characters, Santa Claus and his elves in the tents that will be close to the train and families are encouraged to wear their holiday pajamas for the experience. This would be a great time if you ever wanted to have an excuse to wear matching holiday pj’s. Tickets will begin at $30 and children 2 years old and under are free. To be one of the first to reserve your tickets, sign up for The Polar Express mailing list to make sure you get your tickets first, as they will sell fast like they do every year.

Tickets are available from 3 pm to 9 pm Monday – Thursday and 1 pm to 9 pm Friday - Sunday. You can also combine your tickets and ride the St. Louis Ferris Wheel or explore the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station. There are hotel packages available too if you would like to make a weekend out of your trip. I love seeing that there are still fun holiday events happening close to the Tri-States, my family and I did this a few years back and it was the best experience of a lifetime. We still talk about it to this day, and we hope that we can do it again soon.
