There's nothing like music and it's so fantastic to get that back this summer.

The Hannibal Jaycees kick off National Tom Sawyer Days with a massive concert, Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery & Gentry. The crowds were excited, the people of Hannibal were excited, and when Mark & I talked with Eddie last week he was excited to get back to live music. There's just nothing like it.

The show opened Saturday night with the Feudin' Hillbillies which got the crowd pumped up for Eddie. When he took the stage this past Saturday, it was proof that the crowd and Eddie himself were ready to have a good time. The songs where some of the classic from Montgomery & Gentry's career, with a few new ones mixed in.

If you weren't able to attend you missed one heck of a show, the atmosphere was just ready to get back to live music, hanging out with friends, and getting back to some normalcy. National Tom Sawyer Days continue this week through the entire weekend with another big rock concert Saturday night.

Times and events might change, so make sure you follow the Hannibal Jaycees on their Facebook page for all the latest details of events. Coming this week, the frog and fence painting contest, the carnival will kick off, plus mud volleyball, fireworks show and a 4th of July parade. The Hannibal Jaycees do a great job each year putting this event on, it's now our job to get out an enjoy every thing about National Tom Sawyer Days.
