Back to School Trends for Fall 2025 in Missouri

Ready or not the school year is closer than you think. The sooner you get started on your back to school shopping, the better chance you have of getting the stuff the kids will be wanting for this school year.

Back to school shopping this year will have the familiar feel of early 2000's (except the prices)

Following a check of trending back to school items for this fall, it seems that Gen-Z kids are ready to embrace the 2K era of style. Which begs the question; Do you have some old 2K era fashion that could be handed down? Would your kids want the authentic article/ or would they want a freshly produced facsimile of what you used to wear?

Retro is cool for kids in 2025 -Hey, it's new to them

Low rise jeans are back with the wide legs. Butterfly hair clips (which I thought was more a 90s thing) are in style now too. Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister are on the comeback. Platform sneakers are back and utilized far beyond just the basic flat bottom sneaker. These newer models seem a tad shorter than their predecessors and are applied to running style shoes too. UGG's are back, classic Reebok's and Vans are in this fall.

Athleisure remains popular (Lululemon, Vuori and Adidas), and relaxed street wear is making a comeback (think oversized hoodies, shirts and jeans). Big logos and cargo pants will be seen too. Sustainable clothes are getting a push, which is nice I guess, but isn’t the MOST sustainable approach (if that’s your jam) hand me downs?

With the oversized pants back in style you’re gonna need a belt or two. Hence, statement belts and big buckles of all styles are gaining popularity. You don’t have to be a bronco buster to have an oversized buckle style. Western style will be the most available though, and in Missouri that works.

Tech infused clothes are on the rise. Smart clothing is starting to gain traction. Jackets with built in LED lights, Mood shirts that change with your environment and disposition , or even shoes that keep track of your physical movement for the day (yes I’m sure an app is involved).
