10 Rescue Puppies Drowned During Historic St. Louis Flooding
It was a historic day of flooding as the St. Louis area saw record rainfall that has never been seen in such a short time. That led to flash flooding that sadly has reportedly taken the lives of 10 rescue puppies in St. Peters, Missouri.
Yahoo News is the first place I saw the sad news shared that 10 puppies had drowned from Stray Paws Rescues. They confirmed this news in a Facebook post earlier today as their facility was devasted by flood waters and many of their animals did not survive.
If there's any good news to come out of this tragedy, it's that Stray Paws Rescues has now been overwhelmed with foster applications offering to provide homes for many of their animals.
Here's some video shared with Fox 2 St. Louis today of the water that devasted the shelter.
According to their official website, no new foster applications are being accepted until at least Thursday, July 28 as they work to get their facility back in operating condition.
The rainfall numbers in and around St. Louis today were staggering as shared by the National Weather Service.
