Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore introduced the community to his choice to fill the key Director of Administrative Services role today.  At a news conference in the City Council Chamber this morning, Moore announced that he is placing Glenda Hackemack before the City Council for confirmation to the number two position in his administration.

New Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore is inviting all citizens to join him for lunch every 4th Wednesday of each month during the summer months. You are encouraged to bring you lunch to Washington Park from noon to 1 p.m. during those days including the first day of June 26.

One of former Mayor John Spring's desires was to have the Quincy Bayview Bridge illuminated at night. With a new administration in place for the city, I am not sure just where that plan stands.

The Quincy Police Department is currently investigating the placement of two Improvised Explosive Devices (I.E.D.) in the City of Quincy.

The 2013 Election to decide the next Mayor for the City of Quincy is underway.  The polls opened this morning at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m. Incumbent Democratic Mayor John Spring, looking for a third term as Mayor, is being challenged by Third Ward Republican councilman Kyle Moore.

I was driving around the City of Quincy this weekend and happened to notice just how many sideways were not cleaned off from the recent snow storms. People are pretty good about clearing off their driveways, but not so good about clearing the walking paths in front of their homes.

There will be a Neighborhood Watch meeting on Tuesday, February 26th at 6:30pm at The Way of Hope Church at 4th and Lind Streets in Quincy.

It's hard to believe but Thanksgiving week is here. As a result, some Quincy City schedules will be changing including the garbage pickup schedule.

The City of Quincy holds its annual Tree Planting Program every fall and this year is no exception. The city currently has 36 trees still available for purchase at a cost of $30 per tree.
