The Hannibal Pirate Family Foundation Annual Banquet is set for Saturday night, April 21st.  You hear us mention banquets and benefits all the time on KICK-FM and many are for really good causes.  But, this is one I wanted to bring special attention to.

The Hannibal Pirate Family Foundation was formed to honor the memory of Colin Krigbaum, a Hannibal Pirate athlete who was killed in an automobile accident in September of 2008.  Over the past four years, the reach of the foundation to help the community has grown to assist with the Buddy Packs Program and the Helping Hands Fund.

Blane Mundle who leads the Foundation appeared on KICK-FM on my morning show today and mentioned the many items...especially St. Louis Cardinal items they have for this year's auction:

"We have a tremendous amount of support on the national level from some unbelievable Hall-Of-Fame type athletes.  We have Cardinal stuff because obviously  this is Cardinal Country...autographed jerseys from Stan Musial, Chris Carpenter, baseballs from David Freese, Matt Holliday...memorabilia from Adam Wainright."

Blane went on to say that the items people can bid on aren't limited to St. Louis Cardinal memorabilia and autographs...

"A few weeks ago, we were fortunate to get a full-size Dallas Cowboy helmet autographed by Roger Staubach.  We have jerseys signed by Troy Aikman, Emmett Smith...if you can think of an athlete you'd like to have an autograph from, we probably have it in our auction coming up on April 21st"
