George Strait ‘Rides Away’ With Record Setting Final Concert

The end of country music's most impressive era took place Saturday night, June 7 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as the legendary George Strait played the final show on his 'The Cowboy Rides Away' tour.

No one in the history of music... any kind of music... has topped the charts as much as 'King George.' Add a new record to his legacy now, too. 104,000 thousand people packed the stadium and obliterated the old record of 87,500 for an indoor concert, set 33 years ago by The Rolling Stones.

George brought his A game too naturally. He played 40 songs for the crowd and was joined by scores of other country stars, there to pay their own tribute to the King of country music and share a little stage time with him.

Even though George is done with headlining tours, his recording contract with MCA Records has five more original albums on it. Thank God we are far from hearing the last of George Strait.
