Some families might be thinking that the Christmas season might just be the perfect time to ask Santa for a new pet. If you're looking, I'd like to introduce you to "Jackson". Jackson has called the Quincy Humane Society home for 705 days and counting (as of Wednesday, December 6). And he's still looking for his forever home.

Jackson (formerly known as Butch) is a two-year old plott hound mix with a pretty interesting story. Born in November of 2015, Butch was placed up for adoption at just eight weeks (along with two other litter mates). Butch and his litter mates were placed in foster care for a short while and then returned to the Quincy Humane Society to be vaccinated, micro-chipped, and neutered.

Both of his litter mates were then adopted, but Butch wouldn't be adopted for another four months. Unfortunately, due to landlord issues Jackson was returned to the Humane Society a month later in April of 2016. He was adopted again in June of 2016 but was eventually returned to the Quincy Humane Society just short of his first birthday.

He was adopted again in December of 2016 and given the name "Jackson". The following summer, Jackson was seen on a "Lost and Found" Facebook site several times and reunited with his family. This past October (a month before his second birthday) he was returned once again and considered abandoned by his adoptive family.

And that brings us to present day. Jackson is still waiting for his forever home. According to Lori LaRose of the Quincy Humane Society, Jackson is has the "happiest disposition" and is "always wanting to be a people pleaser.

He is our “go to” dog when we are doing playgroups, and he has yet to meet a stranger. We all love him and hope there is a super family that is just right for him. He’s had so much happening to him in these last two years, but, you would never know it...To me, he is the epitome of a “good boy”.
