The Hannibal Jaycees have sent us the official 2013 National Tom Sawyer Days Booklet. This is THE guide to everything for this year's celebration, including times and locations for the popular annual events, and the new activities that are being introduced. National Tom Sawyer Days will take place July 3 - 7 in downtown Hannibal.

I must be a glutton for punishment.  As if yesterday's slideshow of Tom Sawyer badness from my childhood wasn't enough, here we go again.  Yes, it's true.  I was a Tom Sawyer back in 1979.  Well, I was one of the final five at least.  Jim Cary went on to be the actual Tom Sawyer representative, but that didn't stop me from parading through downtown Hannibal with the full garb on.  Behold. National Tom Sawyer Days is underway and one of my favorite events is happening in Central Park today around 1pm.  It's the Annual Pet Show and it's a lot of fun considering how unpredictable our four-legged friends can be.  For a complete listing of events for National Tom Sawyer Days, be sure to check out the schedule we posted last week.

National Tom Sawyer Days are underway! Highlights of Hannibal's celebration include arts and crafts in the park starting on Tuesday, July 3rd.  The parade will roll down Broadway on the 4th of July with fireworks that night.
