The 28th annual Shrimp Boil, put on by the Shelbyville Moonshiners is coming Saturday, September 27.

The event takes place at the Moonshiners Hall on Highway 15 in Shelbyville, Missouri. Doors will open that day at 4:00p.m. and food will be served starting at 6:00p.m. Tim Caldwell, a Moonshiners member, says they will be cooking up 600 pounds of shrimp, over 300 pounds of catfish and the equivalent of 3 whole hogs... along with potatoes and all the fixins. Spirits from the 3 major beer distributors will be available as well as a margarita and daquari bar, hard liquor and a shot bar.

One part of the hall will feature karaoke and in another, live music from Madd Hoss Jackson, who will be playing from 9:00p.m. to 1:00a.m. There will also be music provided by a DJ with dancing as well.

On Friday, September 26, there will also be a golf tournament at Shelbina Lakeside Golf Course. It is a 4 person scramble and the cost is $40 per team. Check in is at 8:00a.m. and tee time at 9:00a.m.

One difference at this years event will be a limited number of tickets. 600 will be sold in order for everyone to have plenty to eat. Advance tickets are $60 and any left over will be sold at the door for $100 apiece.
