The annual Bridge The Gap To Health event is Saturday May 20. If you need to drive around Quincy at that time, there are some road closures and detours you need to know about.

Both the Quincy Memorial and Bayview bridges will be reduced to one lane for the event. Broadway will be reduced to one lane westbound starting at about 6th St. Your last chance to exit Broadway will be 4th St. (turning right). Once you pass 4th St, your only other option is to take the Bayview bridge into Missouri.

Traffic heading east on the Memorial bridge will be forced to turn south on 3rd St., and detour to State St. Maine St. will be closed to all traffic between 3rd and 24th from 6:00am to 10:30am. No traffic will be allowed to cross Maine St. Everyone is asked to use 24th St. as the primary N-S thru-way.

Traffic heading south on 3rd St (US 24) will be forced to cross the Bayview bridge, then loop back into Illinois via the Memorial bridge. No left turn will be allowed at Broadway. 3rd St will be closed from Broadway to Maine from 6:00am - 10:30am.

Other closures of note:

  • Front St. from Broadway to Jersey
  • 2nd St. from Maine north into the park
  • Broadway from Bonansinga Dr. to 3rd St.
  • Vermont Ave. from Front St. to 4th St.
  • Hampshire St. from Front St. to 5th St.
  • Bonansinga Dr. from Broadway north to Weems Camp

In addition, the parks along the riverfront (including Quinisippi Island) will have traffic restrictions imposed until after the race is completed.
