The city of Quincy has announced a minor change to its yard waste pickup policy, though you’re going to want to take note of it before March 20.

According to the city website, cans containing yard waste must be marked with a two-inch stripe around the outside of the can, approximately 12 inches from the top. This is in contrast to the large “X” that previously indicated yard waste cans. 55 gallon drums are not acceptable, though yard waste bags are still permissible. No individual can or bag may exceed 40 lbs.

In order to be picked up, tree branches must not be thicker than one inch in diameter and no longer than four feet in length.
