Quincy Park District Fishing Rodeo Back at Moorman Lake

The Quincy Park District will once again hold it's annual Fishing Rodeo at Moorman Lake in Upper Moorman Park. The event will take place on Saturday, June 7.

Prizes will be awarded in several categories including largest bass, largest catfish and largest crappie, as well as for overall largest fish (measured by length). Categories will be broken up into age groups 0-9, 10-15, 16 to adult and seniors 60+. There will also be awards for the youngest and oldest fisher-person, whether they catch a fish or not.

The days schedule is as follows:

  • 12:30pm- registration and introductions
  • 1:00-2:45pm- fishing takes place
  • 3:00pm- awards and announcements

There is no charge to participate and no fishing license will be needed because the day is 'free fishing day' in Illinois.

The Fishing Rodeo is sponsored by Y-101 and KICK-FM.
