Mowing season is here!

Instead of listening to my mower or my weed whacker, I will wear a set of ear buds connected to a music player. Whatever album I am in the mood for that day, I will upload it to the player and enjoy. It has to be a good album - since mowing and trimming my yard and my next door neighbors yard takes about 2 - 2 1/2 hours. That means that some of the shorter albums (Dark Side of the Moon) I get to listen to up to three times.

I am afflicted with a disorder known as "LastSong-itis." You have this when the last song you hear becomes an "earworm" and runs through your brain for hours, until a better or catchier song takes over your brain. I bring this up because I did not have my music player yesterday, and the last song I heard before I started mowing was:

1972's Popcorn by Hot Butter.

I could not get this song out of my head to save my life! Do do do do do-do do, do do do do do-do, de de de da-de da-de de da-de da-de de da de de de...

I tried purposely singing other songs:

"Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl with yellow...Do do do do do-do do, do do do do do-do, de de de da-de da-de de da-de da-de de da de de de...

"When Black Friday comes, I'll collect everything I...Do do do do do-do do, do do do do do-do, de de de da-de da-de de da-de da-de de da de de de...

Two and a half hours of Do do do do do-do do, do do do do do-do, de de de da-de da-de de da-de da-de de da de de de...

Go ahead - play the song and walk away from your computer. Tell me you don't have it running through your head as well.

Do do do do do-do do, do do do do do-do, de de de da-de da-de de da-de da-de de da de de de...
